Below you will see a thorough list of suggestions by region and various locations available for your special day. For your ceremony, the beach is absolutely the most popular choice (tides permitting). It is hard to find a more romantic and picturesque spot, especially at sunset. Costa Rica has plenty to choose from.

  • Caribbean Side

If you are looking for to have the jungles of Costa Rica as your background there are several beautiful and tranquil locations throughout the country as well.

  • Mountain Options –  Arenal, Monteverde and various beautiful mountain locations close to San Jose

This part of the country is considered to be much drier in climate. Rainfall typically begins in mid-May through mid-November and is dry the rest of the year. It is known for beautiful beaches and great surf spots.

The Papagayo Gulf area in the northwest region of Costa Rica provides an easy 30-minute transfer from Liberia International Airport to the quaint towns of Playa Panamá, Playa Hermosa, Playas del Coco and Ocotal. From all of these locations it is less than an hour to most of Costa Rica’s exciting excursions: canopy tours, volcanoes, waterfalls, white water rafting, wildlife safari floats, surfing, snorkeling, fishing, etc.

Located in this area is the Peninsula Papagayo project. It is a high end and beautiful option in Costa Rica. In addition to the Four Seasons & Andaz hotels on site, there are gorgeous luxury homes and condos available for lodging and the stunning Prieta Beach Club can be used for your event. You only need to rent one condo or house to use this facility. It is heaven on earth.

Mid-Pacific Region

These locations are no more than 2 1/2 hours from Costa Rica’s capital and the Juan Santa María International Airport (SJO). This region is lush and green with plenty of beautiful rain forest. However, with that being said, this region does get more rainfall starting as early as mid April through November.

More commonly known as the Jaco area you will find the town of Herradura.  A short hour to 1 1/2 hr drive from Costa Rica’s main international airport you will find a few stunning locations.

Manuel Antonio

The picturesque Costa Rica! Manuel Antonio is famous for its beautiful National Park, great beaches, emerald green foliage, and properties boasting amazing views. This town encompasses what people envision Costa Rica to be. It is a great town with lots of activities, wildlife, and lush green rainforest jungle that touches the ocean. It is also a true rain forest, so rain is prominent here starting in April through November. Tropical rainstorms tend to be erratic and sometimes come in fast and leave just as quickly. We host weddings in Manuel Antonio year round (morning time ceremonies for mid September & October dates due to rainfall), but there are tons of great properties that have roofs and tents, so when those tropical storms hit, we are prepared and it does not dampen your event.

The Caribbean side of the country is an exotic paradise, less crowded, a bit more rustic and so beautiful. They do, however, have opposite weather patterns from the rest of the country; so while September and October have the most rainfall throughout the Pacific side, the Atlantic side is typically beautiful at that time of year.

Inland / Mountains

If the beach is not your ideal location, you can head inland to the mountains of Monteverde or the spectacular volcano at Arenal. Both towns offer several excellent wedding locations and hotels for all price ranges. The mountainous capital town of San Jose also has a few spectacular options as well.
